CosmoDomes
A mobile CosmoDome planetarium is an inflatable dome theatre that can
accommodate approximately thirty students in each display.
Inside the dome a
special projection system displays an accurate 360-degree view of the
night sky onto the inside surface of the dome.
The projection system was devised by scientists at the Centre for Astrophysics
and Supercomputing, Swinburne University of Technology. Their Mirrordome system
is an efficient and cost-effective alternative to
very expensive fish-eye lens systems.
The dome's inflated Airlock Door System is full height, and allows easy access
for wheelchairs and people with limited mobility.
As well as the night sky we project mythological figures,
constellations, celestial coordinates, planets and even special high definition
movies that will amaze the viewer.
