MAX GOES TO THE MOON
Suitable for school Years K+/ Families.
Movie length 30 mins.
Ever wonder what it’s like to go to the Moon? The award-winning children’s book, “Max Goes to the Moon” by Dr. Jeffrey Bennett, takes you on such an adventure.
The story of Max the dog and his adventure to and from the Moon with his friend Tory is now a planetarium show! Coupled to this great story is a lot of very interesting science geared for children in grades
K-5.
On February 24, 2011, the Space Shuttle Discovery launched on its final mission. Astronaut Alvin Drew took along Max Goes To The Moon on this mission, so that he could read to children while orbiting Earth. This made it the first children’s book ever to be read out loud from space!
Our school planetarium show includes a guided ‘What’s in the sky tonight’ presentation and a Solar System walkthrough covering relevant aspects of the NSW syllabus.
